In addition to monitoring your teeth and providing preventative treatments when needed, we are here to answer all of your questions and set you and your family up for great oral health.

Dental Fillings

Tooth decay (dental caries) occurs when bacteria in the mouth cause damage to the outer protective layer of tooth enamel. The enamel protects the interior of the tooth, and when the enamel is compromised, there is a greater risk that bacteria will enter the soft tissue inside the tooth and cause an infection. At this point, a dental filling is necessary to fill in the gap in the tooth enamel to protect the tooth and prevent infection.

Cleaning and Prevention

Every oral examination offers us an opportunity to provide up-to-date dental care for you and your family. Routine examinations include a variety of diagnostic tools, which allow us to have a 360-degree view of your oral health. Teeth Extractions

Whenever we can, our dentists strive to help you keep your natural teeth. However, some circumstances may be best treated by removing one or more teeth from the mouth and replacing them with artificial teeth. Some of the reasons we may suggest tooth extractions for patients include decaying teeth, injured or broken teeth, infection or risk of infection, or an overcrowded mouth.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth (also known as third molars) are the last teeth to erupt in the mouth, usually in the late teens or early twenties. The wisdom teeth often don’t have room to grow properly in the mouth, leading to impacted teeth, overcrowding, gum disease, tooth decay, and pain. Sometimes, dentists may recommend removing wisdom teeth before these issues occur as a preventative measure.

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are pre-made fillings that can be attached to the top of a tooth. Both are designed to sit on the chewing surface of a back tooth or molar. While inlays rest between the cusps (or ridges) of the teeth, onlays include one or more ridges. Both types of restorations are created in a dental laboratory based on the specific shape of your tooth. Your dentist will then prepare your tooth and bond the inlay or onlay to the tooth for a secure fit.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are a preventative measure we most often use for children after their permanent (adult) teeth come in. Dental sealants are brushed onto the teeth to provide an extra layer of protection, especially in areas where there may be a risk of the tooth enamel breaking down. This can help prevent cavities in children and teens, and even well into adulthood.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a technique we can use to restore and repair damaged teeth. A tooth-coloured resin that blends into the natural tooth colour is applied to the affected tooth, shaped, and hardened using a special light. Dental bonding can be used to repair chipped, decayed, or cracked teeth, or to change the shape or colour of the teeth.
